CALCIFICATION OF A HYDROPHILIC ACRYLIC IOL
This IOL (Rayner T-Flex) was explanted because of central calcification of the anterior surface causing decreased vision. This was diagnosed one year after a piggyback with a hydrophobic lens over it to correct a hyperopic error. Hydrophilic IOLs may calcify especially after sequential surgeries.
