TELANGIECTATIC CAPILLARIES (TELCAPS) IN RETINAL VASCULAR OCCLUSIONS: MULTIMODAL IMAGING IN A CASE SERIES
Introdução / Purpose
Telangiectatic capillaries (TelCaps) was previously identified in patients with diabetic retinopathy but is now seen in patients with retinal vascular occlusions. We would like to report 3 cases of retinal vascular occlusions following with Telangiectatic Capillaries (TelCaps), a new finding on Indocyanine Green Angiography (ICGA) and its multimodal imaging study.
Material e Método / Methods
A case series which the new finding called Telangiectatic Capillaries (TelCaps) was seen with clinical examination, fundus evaluation, fluorescein angiography, indocyanine green angiography and Optical Coherence Tomography
Resultados / Results
We report a series of three patients with Telangiectatic Capillaries (TelCaps) findings on Indocyanine Green Angiography (ICGA) following retinal vascular occlusions. The patient’s age varied between 52 and 71 years old, and the best corrected visual acuity in the affected eye varied from 20/25 to 20/80. Fundus evaluation revealed small hard exudates in the vascular termination close to the macula with a reduction of the foveal reflex. The optical coherence tomography images showed marginal hyperreflectivity and inner hyporreflectivity that were suggestive of TelCaps lesion, which is confirmed by hyperfluorescence in the late phase of ICGA.
Discussão e Conclusões / Conclusion
The study highlights the importance of performing multimodal imaging evaluation, including ICGA, in retinal vein occlusions (RVO) for early identification and management of the associated lesions.
