Abstract General Information
Título/Title
LOW-COST GUARDED LIGHT PIPE FOR UNASSISTED VITREOUS BASE SHAVING
Resumo/Abstracts
Our video presents an alternative technique for performing unassisted vitreous base shaving through self-indentation, using materials commonly available in retina services. Additionally, we review previously published methods for unassisted peripheral approaches during vitrectomy and scleral buckling.
This technique simplifies the procedure and increases accessibility for centers where other methods may not be readily available. In our experience, no iatrogenic retinal lesions were observed, and optimal visualization of the vitreous base was achieved. Furthermore, this approach facilitates bimanual vitrectomy using a fourth trocar and enhances peripheral laser application.
