Marcela did her Ophthalmology training, as well as a vitreoretinal fellowship, at Hospital Federal dos Servidores do Estado, in Rio de Janeiro. She moved to the UK in 2018 for a medical retinal and uveitis fellowship at Moorfields Eye Hospital, in London. At present, she works as a Consultant Ophthalmologist in Medical Retina and Uveitis at West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals and is part of the pediatric and adolescent uveitis team at Moorfields and University College London Hospitals.
